What Cooking Matters resources are available? Please refer to our Program Overview to read through the full list of Cooking Matters resources available.

In what languages are Cooking Matters resources available? Most of our resources are currently available in English and Spanish. As we work to revise many of our materials, our long-term goal is to ensure multiple languages options are available. We appreciate your patience as we embark on this endeavor.

Where can I access Cooking Matters resources? Most of the Cooking Matters resources can be easily downloaded from our website. If you do not see what you are looking for, please reach out to cookingmatters@thefoodtrust.org. If you would like to purchase copies of the participant guides, please visit cookingmatters.printtailor.app.

Do I need to sign a Partner Agreement to access the Cooking Matters resources? No, it is no longer required to sign a Partner Agreement to use Cooking Matters resources. As of 2024, Cooking Matters resources are open access to ensure all Partners, new and old, have accessibility to a range of evidence-based nutrition education resources.

Where can I receive training to implement Cooking Matters programs? We are pleased to offer a variety of virtual training videos that can be accessed using the links below. We will also be hosting quarterly Partner webinars to share best practices and updates. If you would like to be added to our Partner list or you require additional assistance, please reach out to cookingmatters@thefoodtrust.org.

Do I have to use the Cooking Matters surveys? Can I substitute my organization’s survey for the Cooking Matters survey? While we encourage partners to use the Cooking Matters surveys, you are able to use your own evaluation tools. Please note, the Cooking Matters surveys were specifically designed for these curricula and have been pilot tested and validated. Cooking Matters surveys compare participant knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior before and after the program and measure key program objectives.

Am I required to provide data or evaluation results to The Food Trust? We are not requiring submission of data or evaluation results at this time. We are asking partners to provide their contact information in order to access Cooking Matters resources with the hope that we will be able to collect data in the future. 

Do I have to host a tour at a grocery store? No, you can host a tour in a variety of settings using our Pop-Up tour toolkit.  This toolkit is a set of electronic documents that you print in order to recreate the in-store experience.  All materials to create a Pop-Up tour kit are available upon request and can be used for both Cooking Matters at the Store, as well as week 5 tours in our cooking series. 

Are partners required to provide take-home groceries or gift cards for participants? No, take-home groceries and gift cards are no longer a requirement of the Cooking Matters program. If your funding allows, we encourage this additional program enhancement.

Does The Food Trust provide grants or funding to partners interested in implementing Cooking Matters? No, the Cooking Matters program no longer provides grant opportunities to partner organizations. We are committed to ensuring that Cooking Matters remains updated and evidence-based so it is considered an allowable resource by federal nutrition education programs.
